
Jason L Spence, 33, of Scandia Road, Russell, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his residence.
Jason was born October 26, 1979, in Warren, PA, the son of Larry Spence and his companion Amy Parsons of Warren, and Vicki Peters Spence and her companion Lester Moyer. Jason was a graduate of Warren High School and was employed at the Waste Treatment Plant as a laborer. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and especially enjoyed time with his family, and reading the newspaper with his Grandma. He was a member of the former Epworth United Methodist Church, and attended Scandia Covenant Church. For sixteen years, he was a member of the Scandia Volunteer Fire Department, where he was an active trustee for many years and Chief in 2007, Leutenant and Assistant Chief. He was also a member of the Hazmat Team for Warren County, and was certified in all Hazmat Operation.
In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his paternal grandmother, Ella Mae Spence, Warren, PA; two sisters, Jennifer Spence and Emily Spence, and her boyfriend, Jesse Leaman, all of Denver, PA; his uncle, Bruce Spence, and his wife, Lee, Indiana, PA; his aunt, Judy Williams, Warren, PA; several great aunts and uncles; many cousins; one second cousin, Natalie; and two of his closest friends, Karris Pennington and Shellie Raines.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, David Spence; his maternal grandparents, Glenn "Mike" and Norma Peters, and his great aunt, Beverly Swanson.
Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Sunday, January 6, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Scandia Covenant Church on Monday, January 7, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jon Meyer, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Scandia Cemetery.
